Many people are enthralling up from a Crt Tv to whether an Lcd or plasma Tv. The reasons to move up are numerous. Some people like that newer flat Tvs take up much less space and can even be mounted on the wall. Other people like them for their improved glow and sharper images. Still others appreciate their approximately universal widescreen shape which is great for movies and is much more rare in older style Crt Tvs. When purchasing a new flat Tv, the selection in the middle of Lcd and plasma Tvs is critical. Plasma Tvs were originally the leader. Huge and enthralling plasma screens were available when Lcd screens were small and filled with dim, smeared pictures. Since then, Lcd Tvs have caught up and possibly surpassed plasma Tvs.
The technology behind the two is fully separate but the effect is similar: a gorgeous and enthralling image. Some people prefer Lcds for their deeper blacks, great level of detail and, most importantly, their avoidance of the burn-in that can happen on Plasma Tvs. This means that if you watch a channel with a logo a lot, it's no ifs ands or buts potential that the logo can get burned into your Tv enduringly and still show when you have changed channels or are watching a Dvd! at last it comes down to personal preference in the middle of the two. Evaluate them head to head in a store, and if possible, see how they both look in your own home as well before making a decision about which is best for your needs and budget.
